Welcome to the Children Ministries Department!

Welcome to Newlife Seventh Day Adventist Children’s Ministries, a dynamic community dedicated to nurturing the faith of children from birth to fourteen years old. While Sabbath School provides a weekly foundation for religious education, our Children’s Ministries extends beyond this single moment. We strive to meet the holistic needs of each child through various ministries, all aimed at leading children to Jesus and supporting their daily walk with Him. We aim for every child to encounter Jesus and develop a lifelong loving relationship with Him. Additionally, our department focuses on educating the parents of children in this age group.

Our Main Aim
Our main aim is to teach children about the love of Jesus Christ, develop their knowledge of the Bible, and enhance their skills and talents to confidently spread God’s Word. We strive to achieve this through various activities.

Children’s Sabbath School
Sabbath School lessons are held every Saturday afternoon from 13:00 to 14:00. We offer four classes to cater to children from babies to young adults:

Children’s Stories
Every Sabbath, as part of Divine Service, children gather to hear stories based on the Bible or Biblical moral values to support their Christian development.

Thirteenth Sabbath
On the last Sabbath of each quarter, known as Thirteenth Sabbath, children from each class recite memory verses, sing songs learned during the quarter, and share what they have learned in their lessons in the main church.

Children’s Choir
The children’s choir provides an experience of worship through music, training them in singing and understanding music as a ministry outreach. It offers an opportunity to teach children good music, influence their musical tastes, and develop their musical talents by performing special songs during Divine Hour or Sabbath School.

Biblical Perspectives on Children:

  • Children are a gift from God, given to parents as a sign of love and personal fulfillment (Deut. 7:13; Ps. 127:3).
  • Children are desirable, as God has instructed us to bear children from creation (Gen. 9:7; Deut. 6:3).
  • Children bring joy and blessings to adults, providing many benefits through parenting (Num. 5:28; Deut. 28:4,11).
  • Children need to be taught how to develop a relationship with God, passing on our beliefs and understanding (Exod. 12:26,37; Deut. 6:1-7; Prov. 22:6).
  • Children are so valuable to God that He commands us to protect them, ensuring their spiritual and physical security (1 Sam. 20:42; Ezra 8:21).
  • God loves children enough to ensure they receive discipline (Prov. 3:11-12; 13:24; 19:18; Eph. 6:4).
  • God enjoys the nature and personality of children and asks adults to learn from them, valuing their attributes like sincerity, humility, simplicity, and trust (Matt. 18:3; 19:14; Phil. 2:15).

If children matter this much to God, they should matter equally to us.
